Born and raised in Indiana, I earned a BA in Art History and a BFA in Painting from Indiana University. While working toward my degrees, I was fortunate to study art in Florence, Italy and Giverny, France. Later, I received a fellowship to the Vermont Studio Center where I continued my studies.
Now in Indianapolis, I am a wife and mother to three young children. I have claimed a corner of my bedroom as a studio space and work primarily with acrylics, watercolors, and pastels. I am passionate about the creative process and draw inspiration from my surroundings – whether it is the local wildlife, urban and rural landscapes, a garden patch spotted on a walk with my children or even fruit from the nearby grocery. The art-making process allows me to slow down and enjoy the simple beauty of the everyday. I wish the same for my viewer.
